How old do you have to be to rent a boat and do you need a boaters license?

To rent a boat from Lake Stride, you must be at least 21 years old. If you don't have a U.S. Coast Guard-approved boater safety card, no problem! Take a short 20-minute assessment and get your temporary boating certificate here. If you were born after 1998, passing this test is required by the state.

Where do we meet?

Once a reservation has been placed, a staff member will greet you at the courtesy docks to the right of "Kinkaid Lake Boat Launch". The address for the boat launch is 2069 Marina Rd, Murphysboro, IL 62966

Lake Stride is not affiliated with the marina.

How many passengers can I have?

We have 3 different boats with 3 different weight capacities. Make sure to read the descriptions on each boat on the "Rates" page.

How do I make a reservation?

By clicking on the "Book Online" tab at the top of the page. We proudly partnered with Fare Harbor for all reservations and bookings.

What about gas?

The boat will be filled up and ready to go when you arrive. When you leave a staff member can help assist you in refueling at the marina (at your expense) or the gas deposit can be kept. The gas deposit is 100 dollars and will be charged to the credit card on file

Are life jackets provided?

Yes, each boat is equipped with the proper amount of life jackets for its capacity.

Refunds and Weather

Weather not cooperating? No worries, we allow 2 free reschedules. (weather is at the owner's discretion)
For cancellations, there is a 40% refund fee.

What is your policy for damaged products?

The renter is responsible for any damages. The rental agreement and liability waiver will go more in depth on this topic.

What payment methods do you accept and when is it due?

You can pay online using credit or debit. Full payment is due the day before the rental date.
